On the road in the mid coast area of Maine? Want a tasty and cheap meal?
Ya gotta try Wasses' Hot Dogs!
Grilled lightly in peanut oil, and served with grilled, carmalized onions, they are scrumptious, and inexpensive treat.
Why, during the summer high season, you're likely to line up with some famous celebrities, as they wait for the next ferry out to the islands, or a couple of lobstermen on their way home from hauling traps.
3's about right, with some chips and a soda. |

I come up to Camden, ME, every summer. One of the greatest things about my visits are the frequent visits to Wasses North in Rockland, ME. Following a round of golf, their hot dogs really hit the spot. |

Although I would agree with the other reviewers in general, I have received hot dogs there in the past that were obviously a different brand or style and were not as good as their usual.
This only happened a couple times in the few dozen times I've partaken, so it was probably a fluke ocurrence where the dogs ran out or their food order was wrong. |

I grew up in Rockland, Maine. I can still remember the delicious smell of Wasses hotdogs wafting around Rankin Block. I have driven from Boston to Rockland just to have lunch at Wasses and I have NEVER been dissapointed! |

I grew up just outside of Rockland and had the best of luck to be near Wasses. They never sacrificed the quality of their product! Always fresh and warm, their hotdog rolls are steamed so they literally melt in your mouth with the perfectly grilled to order sweet onions and high quality dogs. You just can't beat their dependable quality and taste for a simple and satisfying light or heavy lunch! |

Wasse's Dogs are the best you can get. In my quest to find the best dog, I travelled up the East Coast from the Jesey Shore to ar Harbar. Other notable dogs can be found at Nathan's in NYC, and the Greeks in Philly. But by far, Wasses are the best. |
